Implement and monitor safety and risk management in a motorsport environment
Assessment tool
Version 1.0
Issue Date: April 2024
This unit applies to individuals who undertake a leadership role to promote and monitor the application of safe work practices and control of risks within teams of officials, contractors and volunteers in motorsport events, including practice sessions. They have a key role in ensuring the safe conduct of events and in influencing the ongoing safety of the workplace.
Under OHS law, all organisations must ensure the health, safety and welfare at work of all employees and the safety of people, other than their workers, who may be present at the workplace. In the motorsport industries, the workplace would include any location where an event is held and 'others' would include contractors, volunteers, competitors and spectators.
This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to implement predetermined occupational health and safety (OHS) policies and procedures and to monitor OHS practices and manage risks as a supervisory function.
No licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.
