A person demonstrating competency in this unit must satisfy the requirements of the elements, performance criteria, foundation skills and range of conditions of this unit.
The person must also conduct and monitor waste management operations on two separate occasions.
While conducting and monitoring above waste management operations, the person must:
identify the following to organise equipment and personnel:
work site specifications and timeframes
client needs and expectations
potential hazards and risks and anticipated required work health and safety (WHS) procedures
required supervisory processes and checks
commence and monitor work activity to:
meet work site specifications, site safety plan and timeframes
comply with organisational policies and procedures, and legal and regulatory requirements
determine that individuals have competency level and are equipped with emergency and personal protective equipment (PPE)
check that emergency response actions or procedures are in place to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of waste management
communicate work requirements to personnel in a manner suitable to the situation and confirm that instructions are understood
direct landfill and surrounding site development according to:
landfill development plan
organisation requirements
legislation and codes
arrange for cleaning and shut-down process to be in place on completion of operations.
A person demonstrating competency in this unit must demonstrate knowledge of:

Assessor requirements
As a minimum, assessors must satisfy the assessor requirements in the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) current at the time of assessment.
