A person demonstrating competency in this unit must satisfy the requirements of the elements, performance criteria, foundation skills and range of conditions of this unit.
The person must also develop two waste management strategies to meet specific client needs.
For each client, the person must:
identify, negotiate and agree waste management options and implementation strategies with clients
conduct a feasibility assessment of waste management options, including:
commitment to waste avoidance
compliance with legislation
cost-benefit analysis
costs
lead time
process constraints
resource requirements, including equipment and personnel
resources available
prioritise and review waste management options to ensure they are realistic and achievable and satisfy client and compliance requirements.
While developing above waste management strategies, the person must:
follow organisational procedures to work safely and comply with regulatory and legal requirements
use a computer and appropriate software to prepare and document the waste management strategies.
A person demonstrating competency in this unit must demonstrate knowledge of:

As a minimum, assessors must satisfy the assessor requirements in the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) current at the time of assessment.
