Develop waste management site safety plans

Assessment tool

Version 1.0
Issue Date: April 2024

This unit of competency specifies the outcomes required to develop waste management site safety plans. The unit covers reviewing site, organisational and legal compliance requirements to develop safety plans which identify specific site areas including evacuation, access and restricted areas, first aid and emergency facility locations, and waste types and locations. The unit also covers developing safety and emergency procedures which are designed to ensure the safety of people, equipment, structures and the environment. The unit requires consultation and communication with relevant personnel to ensure understanding of site safety requirements, and to incorporate feedback into the plan. It also requires the ability to use computers and suitable software to prepare safety documentation.

The unit supports those who work in a management role within a waste management environment.

No licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of endorsement.

You may want to include more information here about the target group and the purpose of the assessments (eg formative, summative, recognition)
