To complete the unit requirements the individual must:
describe the effects achieved through different scenic art painting techniques and the contexts in which they can be used
explain how colour theory applies to mixing paint
describe the properties of different paints and materials and the contexts in which they are applied
describe environmental and safety issues as well as organisational requirements associated with materials, tools and equipment used to produce scenic art.
Assessment must be conducted in a safe environment where evidence gathered demonstrates consistent performance of typical activities experienced in creative arts industry environments. The assessment environment must include access to:
painting materials, tools and equipment required for scenic art
a work space in which scenic art can be produced.
Assessors of this unit must satisfy the requirements for assessors in applicable vocational educational and training legislation, frameworks and/or standards.
