This unit specifies the skills and knowledge required to load and secure aviation cargo in aircraft. Tasks need to be performed with attention to detail without injury to self/others or damage to goods or equipment.
It includes loading and securing aviation cargo in fixed wing aircraft during air-land tasks. It also includes responding to aircraft loading issues.
This unit applies to persons who are expected to load and secure aviation cargo in a Defence aerial delivery context, such as specialists working as part of an aerial delivery crew in and around aircraft, often in conjunction with the crew of supporting aircraft, tasked for air-land operations.
The skills and knowledge described in this unit must be applied within the legislative, regulatory and policy environment in which they are carried out. Organisational policies and procedures must be consulted and adhered to.
Persons undertaking this unit would perform in a range of contexts, under supervision, as part of a team, while performing specific tasks.
