Marshal aircraft
Assessment tool
Version 1.0
Issue Date: March 2024
This unit specifies the skills and knowledge required to marshal aircraft during start/shutdown phases, and to direct aircraft movements as ground personnel using standard aircraft marshalling signals.
It includes preparing for marshalling and determining aircraft parking position, and marshalling aircraft during start up, shut down and taxiing.
The skills and knowledge described in this unit must be applied within the legislative, regulatory and policy environment in which they are carried out. Organisational policies and procedures must be consulted and adhered to, particularly those related to the standard Australian Defence Force (ADF) marshalling signals.
Persons undertaking this unit work independently or in small teams, make independent decisions and perform routine tasks in occasionally less familiar contexts while working at an airfield or on a ship where they will marshal aircraft as part of their duties.
No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.
You may want to include more information here about the target group and the purpose of the assessments (eg formative, summative, recognition)
