List the assessment methods to be used and the context and resources required for assessment. Copy and paste the relevant sections from the evidence guide below and then re-write these in plain English.
Elements describe the essential outcomes. | Performance criteria describe the performance needed to demonstrate achievement of the element. Where bold italicised text is used, further information is detailed in the range of conditions. |
1. Prepare for plantation design | 1.1 Assess site and identify site environmental protection measures. 1.2 Review and analyse relevant plans to assess impacts on proposed plantation. 1.3 Consult with stakeholders and obtain input into the design for the site. 1.4 Review organisational maps, plans and strategies and how they relate to plantation requirements. 1.5 Develop measurable performance indicators, specifications and targets for the plantation. |
2. Design components of plantation | 2.1 Arrange surveys and determine species tolerances for the plantation site. 2.2 Develop plan for site preparation. 2.3 Develop design components and obtain approvals. 2.4 Communicate design plan and performance indicators to appropriate personnel. |
3. Review plantation design | 3.1 Assess plantation data and documentation against plans and adjacent plantations 3.2 Prepare recommendations and design improvements. 3.3 Record and report on plantation design processes. |
A person demonstrating competency in this unit must satisfy all of the elements, performance criteria and foundation skills of this unit. If a specific volume or frequency is not stated below, then evidence must be provided that the following requirements have been performed on at least one occasion:
produce designs for plantations that comply with commonwealth, state or territory or local government legislative and regulatory requirements
follow organisational policies and procedures relevant to designing plantations
interpret aerial photographs and maps
design a plantation using consultative processes with colleagues and stakeholders to obtain inputs, and ensure efficient use of resources
design a plantation that meets specified requirements
review a plantation design against determined performance indicators, specifications and targets
develop recommendations for design improvements.
A person competent in this unit must be able to demonstrate knowledge of:

Competency is to be assessed in the workplace or a simulated environment that accurately reflects performance in a real workplace setting.
Assessor requirements
Assessors must:

be able to demonstrate vocational competencies at least to the level being assessed; and
be able to demonstrate how they are continuing to develop their VET knowledge and skills as well as maintaining their industry currency and assessor competence.
