List the assessment methods to be used and the context and resources required for assessment. Copy and paste the relevant sections from the evidence guide below and then re-write these in plain English.
Elements describe the essential outcomes. | Performance criteria describe the performance needed to demonstrate achievement of the element. Where bold italicised text is used, further information is detailed in the range of conditions. |
1. Prepare for maintenance | 1.1 Review work order and where required check with appropriate personnel. 1.2 Select appropriate repair, maintenance and personal protective equipment and check for operational effectiveness. 1.3 Remove caul plates and screens for maintenance from designated machinery. 1.4 Plan maintenance process in line with work order. |
2. Change, clean and polish caul plates | 2.1 Follow organisational safety procedures and manufacturer’s recommendations throughout all maintenance and repair processes. 2.2 Identify plates requiring cleaning and move from circuit to plate rack. 2.3 Process plates through full cleaning cycle; inspect for defects and separate for repair where required. 2.4 Dry plates, prepare for use and return to circuit. 2.5 Polish plates using polishing table and head. 2.6 Store polished plates for use in line with work order. 2.7 Store or dispose of unused chemicals in line with environmental protection practices. |
3. Prepare backing screens | 3.1 Roll screens from plate and secure. 3.2 Process screens through full cleaning cycle; stack and inspect for faults. 3.3 Identify defective screens, remove and dispose of these in line with environmental protection practices. |
4. Remove and replace transport plates | 4.1 Coordinate load shifting and transport requirements to remove and replace transport plates with minimal downtime. 4.2 Identify defective plates, remove from circuit and dispose of these in line with environmental protection practices. 4.3 Prepare and fit replacement plates. 4.4 Record and report process outcomes and equipment faults to appropriate personnel. |
