It is imperative that cultural issues, including gender and kinship issues, are respected in the delivery, assessment and application of this competency unit
This unit deals with the skills and knowledge required to plan and implement a range of health care services as a member of a multi-disciplinary team working with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander communities
Care plans are developed to address findings of clinical assessments, tests and procedures
Treatments include making referrals and development, implementation and evaluation of care plans in line with legislative requirements and organisation protocols
