To complete the unit requirements safely and effectively, the individual must:
analyse and appraise current technology trends and directions in the information and communications technology (ICT) sector
specify the major industry standards used for the new technologies
evaluate vendor products and the direction in which they are trending
summarise information gathering techniques
appraise the general features, capabilities and application of current industry hardware and software products.
Gather evidence to demonstrate consistent performance in conditions that are safe and replicate the workplace. Noise levels, production flow, interruptions and time variances must be typical of those experienced in the general ICT industry, and include access to:
a site where industry specific technologies may be used
industry specific technologies currently used in industry
documents detailing workplace health and safety (WHS) standards, environmental guidelines and organisational requirements.
Assessors must satisfy NVR/AQTF assessor requirements.
