Evidence required to demonstrate competence must satisfy all of the requirements of the elements and performance criteria. If not otherwise specified the candidate must demonstrate evidence of performance of the following on at least one occasion.
interpreting contractual specifications, job specifications and design plans
reading and interpreting numerical data relating to asset performance
making adjustments and alterations to designs
planning and managing the commissioning and post-commissioning activities associated with asset construction
interpreting complex documentation in order to prepare a commissioning plan and schedule
developing an effective commissioning plan and schedule
undertaking inspections and other commissioning activities to meet organisational requirements and reflect the specifications of the job
undertaking post-commissioning activities
managing the processes for addressing defects
reporting outcomes
Evidence required to demonstrate competence must satisfy all of the requirements of the elements and performance criteria. If not otherwise specified the depth of knowledge demonstrated must be appropriate to the job context of the candidate.

Competency should be assessed in an actual workplace or in a simulated environment, with access to equipment and infrastructure appropriate to the outcome. Competency should be demonstrated over time to ensure the candidate is assessed across a variety of situations.
Assessors must satisfy the NVR/AQTF mandatory competency requirements for assessors.
