This unit of competency supports the needs of senior managers and business owners with significant responsibility for providing management of a region or area containing a number of retail outlets.
This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to manage, develop and report the performance of stores in a region or area.
The unit addresses the management and retailing skills and knowledge required to plan, oversee and support the operations of a number of stores within a defined area of operation.
The manager combines extensive retailing skills with the ability to deliver a strong market presence for the network while responding to the differing needs of individual stores.
The unit requires the demonstration of high-level planning and reporting skills, effective communication and motivational skills, and the ability to take decisions to ensure optimal operation of each store.
