The unit has applications in qualifications for masters of commercial vessels of up to 80metres in length operating within offshore coastal limits, i.e. Certificate III in Transport&Distribution (Coastal Maritime Operations - Master Class 5) and Certificate IV in Transport&Distribution (Coastal Maritime Operations - Master Class 4).

UNIT DESCRIPTOR:

This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to perform routine remedial, preventative and survey deck maintenance on commercial vessels of less than 80 metres. This includes carrying out basic deck maintenance, cleaning tasks, marine painting, and checks on deck machinery and systems.
