This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to segregate waste based on waste type in an on-the-job environment.

It includes identifying and segregating waste at a range of plant sites.

It also includes contributing to the implementation of workplace policies and procedures, systems and plans, as well as recognising potential hazards and controlling risks.

This unit requires the ability to apply safe work practices while working with all types of waste.

No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.

Waste segregation plan is established in accordance with workplace policies and procedures, and regulatory requirements

As a minimum, assessors must satisfy applicable regulatory requirements, which include requirements in the Standards for Registered Training Organisations current at the time of assessment.
