Elements and Performance Criteria

1. Prepare materials, tools and equipment for agricultural crop work
   • Identify the materials, tools and equipment required according to lists provided or supervisor's instructions
   • Conduct checks on all materials, tools and equipment and report any insufficient or faulty items to the supervisor
   • Load and unload materials using correct manual handling techniques to minimise damage to the load and the vehicle
   • Select and check suitable personal protective equipment
   • Identify hazards in agricultural crop work and report to the supervisor
   • Apply enterprise work health and safety policies to crop work
2. Undertake agricultural crop work as directed
   • Follow instructions and directions provided by supervisor and seek clarification when necessary
   • Perform cropping work in a safe and environmentally appropriate manner according to enterprise guidelines
   • Communicate with other staff and customers in a positive and professional manner
   • Report problems or difficulties in completing work to required standards or timelines to supervisor
3. Handle materials and equipment
   • Follow supervisor’s instructions to store waste material produced during cropping work in a designated area
   • Handle and transport materials, equipment and machinery appropriately
   • Maintain a clean and safe work site
4. Clean up on completion of cropping work
   • Store or dispose of materials according to supervisor's instructions
   • Clean, maintain and store tools and equipment according to manufacturer's specifications and supervisor's instructions
   • Apply enterprise biosecurity policies
   • Report work outcomes to the supervisor

The candidate must be assessed on their ability to integrate and apply the performance requirements of this unit in a workplace setting. Performance must be demonstrated consistently over time and in a suitable range of contexts.
