Elements and Performance Criteria
- Prepare side by side utility vehicle for use
- Confirm the activity to be undertaken with supervisor, including identifying safe working areas, potential hazards and implementation of safe working procedures
- Conduct safety pre operational checks on the vehicle and report faults or malfunctions for repair
- Use and maintain personal protective equipment
- Attach equipment and loads that do not exceed the weight limitations or change the dynamic stability of the vehicle
- Secure loads and ensure weight does not exceed limits
- Operate side by side utility vehicle
- Operate machinery and equipment in a safe, efficient and controlled manner
- Operate side by side utility vehicles in accordance with task requirements, conditions and manufacturers operating guidelines
- Assess and minimise potential risks to self, others and the environment
- Ensure that the vehicles seat belts and other safety features are functional and used
- Identify and account for environmental implications associated with machinery operation
- Complete work
- Conduct shut-down procedures according to manufacturer's specifications and enterprise requirements
- Perform routine operational servicing and minor maintenance
- Identify and report malfunctions, faults, irregular performance or damage
- Clean, secure and store machinery
- Ensure biosecurity procedures are followed where required
- Maintain machinery use records for servicing purposes
