- Develop procedures to identify infestations and locations
- Analyse and interpret pest legislation
- Develop procedures to identify land ownership, and responsibilities of all parties, in accordance with legislation
- Develop procedures to contact landowners, and notify them of infestation and control requirements, consistent with organisational and regulatory guidelines
- Confirm that record-keeping documents meet regulatory guidelines
- Develop and implement procedures for serving notices
- Develop and implement guidelines on collecting evidence and reporting findings
- Establish organisational policy to provide assistance and advice to landholders in implementing pest management plans
- Administer the implementation of legislation
- Interpret, analyse and evaluate existing policy and provide recommendations
- Determine need for legal action
- Explain, to relevant workers, the policies dealing with right of entry and ensure that workers can adequately communicate these policies to landowners
- Confirm that monitoring program identifies infestations that contravene existing legislation
- Issue and serve penalty notices when required
- Provide pest management advice to landholders
- Collate evidence and findings for presentation in court or to legal representatives
- Prepare ministerial briefs
