Elements and Performance Criteria
- Plan efficient implementation of erosion and sediment control works
- Review plans and specifications and relate to the work site
- Determine personnel and other resources required to undertake the work
- Plan and record work sequences to meet with proposed work schedule
- Identify the need for weed control and plan the use of chemicals
- Order materials to complete proposed works in line with construction schedule
- Identify potential regulatory planning and environmental impacts of the work and notify senior management
- Identify work health and safety hazards, assess risks and implement control measures
- Direct and monitor work
- Communicate clear instructions to plant operators to ensure work meets and maintains quality standards
- Provide on the job training for staff that require it
- Confirm the use of modified techniques to minimise the effect of site limitation in achieving job requirements
- Identify issues likely to cause delays or alter the scope of the work and record and report to senior management
- Inspect work periodically to confirm work outcomes are being achieved and adjust activity or plan if required
- Monitor safe machine operations to ensure they meet relevant work health and safety requirements
- Monitor the work site to ensure it is being kept in a clean and safe condition
- Monitor application of work health and safety, environmental sustainability and biosecurity practices
- Liaise with the media, community and special interest groups where required
