- Identify worn and faulty handpiece components and install minor repair kit components
- Assess the performance of the handpiece
- Check and clean comb bed, cups and fork yokes and check comb bed visually for flatness

- Determine if there is a need for a technician to repair the fault
- Carry out repairs according to manufacturer’s specifications and work health and safety requirements

- Lubricate handpiece
- Replace components requiring periodic replacement
- Identify wear and tear on handpiece in terms of effects on performance
- Install safety components and check before operation of the handpiece
- Run and check handpiece prior to use to determine safe operational performance
