Elements and Performance Criteria

1. Prepare to set up a water delivery system
   • Confirm details of location
   • Select and use hoses, tools and equipment and components
   • Identify appropriate water sources on site
   • Identify workplace health and safety hazards associated with task
   • Select and use appropriate personal protective equipment
   • Measure and mark out water delivery lines
   • Set up water delivery system
2. Operate a water delivery system
   • Commence water delivery
   • Set water application rate
   • Check all pipes, hoses and all joints and confirm they are secure and leak free
   • Check and operate pumps
3. Check the efficiency of a water delivery system
   • Check the water application rate and distribution
   • Inspect water delivery system for operating faults and dry areas
   • Look for variations from required rate or settings, leaks, operating faults and dry areas at any stage in process
   • Carry out remedial action
   • Record the amount of water delivered to location

Performance Evidence

reporting and recording requirements

standard industry risk-control measures to minimise risk associated with setting up and operating a water delivery system

workplace health and safety and environmental legislation and enterprise requirements
