Elements and Performance Criteria

1. Plan and prepare work
   • Work order and work instructions, inspection reports and specifications are obtained and confirmed
   • Tools, equipment and materials required for the job are selected and inspected for safe operation and quality
2. Locate and rectify faults
   • Workplace procedures are identified and followed
   • Faults are located and diagnosed, and correction method is planned
   • Replacement materials are identified, obtained and prepared according to inspection reports
   • Rectification activities are carried out according to vehicle specifications
   • Faults are re-diagnosed to ensure they have been rectified and final adjustments are made
3. Complete work processes
   • Work area is cleaned, and materials disposed of or recycled according to workplace procedures
   • Tools and equipment are cleaned, checked and stored according to workplace procedures
   • Faulty tools and equipment are identified, tagged and reported
   • Repair inspection reports and work sheets are completed according to workplace procedures
