Elements and Performance Criteria

1. Identify and analyse technical issues
   • Stakeholder requirements and workplace procedures relating to the technical issue are identified
   • Processes and materials required to complete work task are identified
   • Circumstances are analysed, and issues identified and clarified
   • Research necessary to further clarify technical issues is conducted and findings are analysed
2. Formulate advice
   • Options relating to the provision of advice are identified and evaluated
   • Options are prioritised and preferred options are chosen
3. Provide advice
   • Advice is discussed with relevant stakeholders
   • Stakeholder requirements are negotiated, documented and incorporated into the proposed advice
   • Concluding advice is presented to relevant stakeholders according to workplace procedures
