Elements and Performance Criteria

1. Prepare for the job
   • Wheel alignment specification and adjustment procedures are identified and used to determine alignment process
   • Wheel alignment pre-checks are completed according to vehicle manufacturer specifications and workplace procedures
   • Wheel alignment measuring tools and equipment are selected and connected to vehicle according to workplace procedures
2. Align wheels
   • Work health and safety (WHS) requirements and workplace procedures are identified and followed
   • Information on wheel alignment equipment is accessed and interpreted from manufacturer specifications
   • Wheels are aligned using alignment procedures that comply with manufacturer specifications and workplace procedures
   • Adjustments on aligned wheels are made according to vehicle manufacturer specifications
3. Complete work processes
   • Wheel alignment tools, equipment and work area are cleaned, maintained and inspected for faults according to workplace procedures
   • Faulty equipment is identified, tagged and reported
   • Pre- and post-wheel alignment measurements are recorded and workplace forms are completed according to workplace procedures
