Elements and Performance Criteria

1. Plan for fabrication
   • Work order and job specifications are identified and job requirements and plug material are confirmed
   • Equipment for fabrication of plug is selected and checked for safe operation
   • Plug shape is established and plug dimensions are determined from job specifications
2. Shape material for plug
   • Workplace procedures are identified and followed during the shaping activities
   • Plug templates and patterns are identified and produced from selected materials
   • Plug material is cut and prepared according to job specifications
   • Material surface is shaped using fabrication equipment
   • Plug dimensions are checked against template and job specifications
3. Complete work processes
   • Plug is finished according to workplace procedures and job requirements
   • Work area and equipment are cleaned, inspected and maintained according to workplace procedures
   • Waste material is collected and recycled or disposed of according to workplace procedures
   • Faulty equipment is identified, tagged and reported
   • Job sheets are completed and reported to appropriate personnel
