Elements and Performance Criteria

1. Prepare to remove and tag bicycle components
   • Task instruction is interpreted and bicycle to be worked on is identified
   • Bicycle component information is sourced and interpreted
   • Potential hazards and risks associated with task are identified and reported to workplace supervisor
   • Tools and equipment are selected and checked according to workplace procedures
2. Remove components
   • Bicycle components to be removed are identified
   • Components are removed according to manufacturer specifications, workplace procedures, and safety and environmental requirements, and without causing damage to components or systems
   • Removed components are inspected and findings recorded according to workplace procedures
3. Tag components
   • Tagging procedures are identified
   • Removed components are legibly tagged without causing damage and according to workplace procedures
   • Tagged components are stored according to workplace procedures
4. Complete work processes
   • Final inspection is made to ensure work meets task instruction and workplace standards. Work area is cleaned, waste and non-recyclable materials are disposed of, and recyclable material is collected and stored
   • Tools and equipment are checked and stored according to workplace procedures
   • Workplace documentation is processed according to workplace procedures
