- Procedures and information relevant to the task are sourced and work requirements confirmed
- Workplace health and safety (WHS) requirements and appropriate precautions are identified and applied
- Method most appropriate for the specific circumstances is selected and prepared for
- Tools and testing equipment necessary to conduct the work are assembled
- Technical and/or calibration requirements for testing and repair of the traction motor system are established
- Diagnose motor control device
- Tests and checks on motor controller cooling system are carried out using manufacturer specifications and test procedures
- Motor controller is disconnected using correct procedure
- Exposed live HV and LV connections and wiring are labelled with appropriate warning tags or signs
- Controller settings and diagnostic information are retrieved using appropriate equipment
- Tests and checks on motor controller are carried out to ensure correct operation
- Test results are recorded
- Repair or replace motor controller
- Motor controller test results are compared with manufacturer specifications to decide on appropriate corrective action
- Motor controller is repaired or replaced as required
- Repaired or replacement motor controller is re-tested for correct operation
- Motor controller is reconnected using correct procedure
- Replacement or repairs carried out are recorded
- Complete repair operations
- Work area is tidied, and tools and equipment replaced according to workplace requirements
- Job card is completed according to workplace requirements
- Client report is prepared on the outcomes of the service and repair of the motor controller according to workplace requirements
- Vehicle is prepared for return to the client
