- Procedures and information relevant to the task are sourced and work requirements confirmed
- Workplace health and safety (WHS) requirements and other relevant information for taking appropriate precautions are identified
- Repair methods for the specific work requirement are selected and prepared for
- Tools and testing equipment necessary to conduct the work are assembled
- Technical and/or calibration requirements for diagnosis and repair of the auxiliary motor are established
- Diagnose auxiliary motor and components operation
- Tests and checks are carried out on auxiliary motor according to manufacturer instructions
- Faults with the auxiliary motor/component are located and diagnosed
- Auxiliary motor/component is removed, tested and checked for correct operation using manufacturer specifications and test procedures
- Test results are recorded
- Repair auxiliary motor and components
- Auxiliary motor/component repair information is accessed
- Test results are compared with manufacturer specifications to decide on corrective actions
- Auxiliary motor/component is replaced, repaired or adjusted as required
- Auxiliary motor/component is re-tested for correct operation once repaired
- Replacement, repair or adjustment procedures carried out are recorded
- Complete service operations
- Work area is tidied, and tools and equipment replaced according to workplace requirements
- Job card or repair order is completed according to workplace requirements
- Client report is prepared on the outcomes of the diagnosis and repair according to workplace requirements
- Vehicle is prepared for return to the client
