Elements and Performance Criteria
- Plan and prepare.
- Work instructions, including plans, specifications, quality requirements and operational details, are obtained, confirmed and applied from relevant information for planning and preparation.
- Safety (OHS) requirements are followed in accordance with safety plans and policies.
- Signage and barricade requirements are identified and implemented.
- Plant, tools and equipment selected to carry out tasks are consistent with job requirements, checked for serviceability, and any faults are rectified or reported prior to commencement.
- Environmental requirements are identified for the project in accordance with environmental plans and statutory and regulatory authority obligations, and are applied.
- Truck mounted crane is set up and operated.
- Truck mounted crane is positioned at the designated drop off point.
- Truck is positioned to ensure a level surface to operate the crane from.
- Crane is activated and manoeuvred to its operating position from its lock down position.
- Crane movements are checked for safe crane operations.
- Load is prepared for lifting in accordance with crane, truck and dogging requirements.
- Site is confirmed as clear and safe to receive or dispatch the load.
- Load is manoeuvred to position using the control levers to manufacturer specifications.
- Load is continually monitored throughout its travel.
- Crane is shut down and returned to its lock down position.
- Clean up.
- Work area is cleared and materials disposed of, reused or recycled in accordance with legislation, regulations, codes of practice and job specification.
- Plant, tools and equipment are cleaned, checked, maintained and stored in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and standard work practices.
