Elements and Performance Criteria

This section specifies work environments and conditions that may affect performance. Health and safety risksmust include at least six of the following:

confined spaces

driving and traffic hazards encountered when driving to and from places of employment

electricity

fire

harassment, bullying and/or violence involving co-workers or customers

hazardous substances

heat

machinery

manual handling

pets

skin penetrating injuries

toys

transport

waste

work environment.

Security risks must include at least six of the following:

abusive and aggressive behaviour

criminal activity

harassment, bullying and/or violence involving co-workers or customers

intimidation

sexual assault

sexual harassment

unauthorised access

use of public transport

working alone

working in isolation

working at night.

Risks to property must include at least three of the following:

arson

damage

loss

theft

unauthorised access

vandalism.

Risks to informationmust include at least three of the following:

copyright infringement

loss of intellectual property or real property

misplacement

non-compliance with legislative and contractual requirements for ensuring confidentiality and privacy of information

theft

unauthorised access.


Performance Evidence

A person demonstrating competency in this unit must satisfy the requirements of the elements, performance criteria, foundation skills and range of conditions of this unit.

The person must also apply procedures for identifying and minimising the health, safety and security risks to self, other people, property and information while undertaking three different home sustainability assessments.

While providing the above home sustainability assessment services, the person must apply knowledge of legislative requirements.

A person demonstrating competency in this unit must demonstrate knowledge of:
