Performance Evidence

A person demonstrating competency in this unit must satisfy the requirements of the elements, performance criteria, foundation skills and range of conditions of this unit.

The person must also apply information on sustainability principles, legislation and government and non-government programs in planning and providing home sustainability services to three different clients.

In doing the above, the person must:

determine relationship between sustainability, greenhouse gas emissions, and home sustainability assessment

apply the following legislation, regulations and codes of practice in conducting the home sustainability assessment:

consumer protection and trade practices

environment

home sustainability assessment

privacy

work health and safety (WHS).

A person demonstrating competency in this unit must demonstrate knowledge of:

causes

relationship between greenhouse gas emissions and house design, household appliances and facilities, water use, waste generation and resident behaviour

role of home sustainability assessments in reducing greenhouse emissions

sources of information on greenhouse emissions

trends in greenhouse emissions

ways of reducing greenhouse gas emissions through home sustainability measures

home sustainability assessment:

codes of practice

government and non-government programs to support home sustainability measures

relevant commonwealth, state or territory, and local government legislation and regulations relating to:

building and construction

consumer protection and trade practices
