- Refine knowledge of improvisation techniques used in dance
- Prepare the body for dance
- Develop complex improvisation skills using a variety of stimuli
- In consultation with relevant personnel, identify typical movement and travel associated with various stimuli
- Apply advanced dance technique when communicating natural physical and emotional responses to various stimuli
- Select a dance style appropriate to the given stimuli
- Introduce a repeated motif created during improvisation that reflects given stimuli
- Demonstrate an expressive interpretation of stimuli through dance
- Rehearse and perform improvised sequences
- Set movement boundaries for individual improvisation pieces within a set timeframe displaying appropriate level of dance technique
- Introduce movement dynamics and partner work
- Vary performance environment as required
- Rehearse and perform improvised sequences in complex dance sequences
- Organise performances to be recorded for evaluation purposes
- Evaluate choreographic potential of improvised work and seek feedback from relevant personnel
- Apply feedback to future performances
