Range Statement

This section specifies different work environments and conditions that may affect performance. Essential operating conditions that may be present (depending on the work situation, needs of the candidate, accessibility of the item, and local industry and regional contexts) are included.

Technical scopes must include at least 2 of:

waveform monitors

vectorscopes

RGB parades

histograms.

Colour grading software must include:

primary colour grading with specific controls for blacks, whites, mid-tones, curves adjustment, saturation and hue

secondary colour grading capability with tools for selecting and colour grading specific parts of the image.


Performance Evidence

Evidence of the ability to:

interpret briefs and other production documentation and liaise with relevant personnel to meet production requirements and deadlines

use industry standard colour grading software to colour grade moving images

use media and metadata workflows when colour grading

assess colour grading equipment for correct calibration

apply attention to detail and assess and optimise image quality

specify and use correct codecs and compression for media that is to be colour graded

utilise file management protocols for transferring media from one software application to another

organise and file media assets logically and accurately.
