Performance Evidence

Evidence of the ability to:

research and consult in order to determine key requirements and usage of work space

assess characteristics and issues that impact on work space

develop a design concept that suits available space, addresses work requirements, integrates safety and sustainability considerations, and includes details of fixtures and fittings

create a work space plan within required timeframe and budget that meets identified objectives.

Note: If a specific volume or frequency is not stated, then evidence must be provided at least once.


Knowledge Evidence

To complete the unit requirements safely and effectively, the individual must:

explain the context in which the space is to be used, processes for meeting user group requirements, and commercial considerations associated with that context

summarise options for planning of space, including advantages and disadvantages of different approaches

describe the key features of annotated floor plans, computer drawings and sketches used when developing work space plans

outline sustainability considerations relating to the work space, including waste

explain work health and safety requirements relating to the use of space within the specific industry context, including requirements associated with specific equipment.
