Elements and Performance Criteria

1. Select work for exhibition
   • Review criteria for selecting works for exhibition
   • Clarify issues about the criteria in consultation with appropriate people
   • Select works according to criteria
   • Confirm final selection with appropriate people as required
2. Organise selected work for presentation
   • Check completeness of work to be displayed and take action as required
   • Determine specific exhibition requirements of selected works in consultation with appropriate people
   • Identify steps and processes required to prepare selected works for exhibition
   • Monitor process and resolve problems that arise within scope of own role, or escalate as appropriate
3. Prepare creative work for display or exhibition
   • Prepare selected works in line with exhibition requirements, using appropriate techniques, or arrange for the services of others as required
   • Provide accurate information on works to appropriate people
   • Submit works for exhibition within agreed timeframe and according to other agreed requirements
   • Provide assistance with installation or hanging of works as required
   • Use feedback from others to improve own performance in preparing works for display

Performance Evidence

Evidence of the ability to:

select creative work for exhibition consistent with given criteria

prepare selected work for exhibition using appropriate techniques

check completeness of work to be submitted, ensuring all elements are present and exhibition requirements have been met

submit work for exhibition within agreed timeframe

provide information and assistance to facilitate exhibition of work.

Knowledge Evidence

To complete the unit requirements safely and effectively, the individual must:

outline exhibition, display or presentation requirements and practice relevant to different creative work and contexts

discuss techniques for the display or exhibition of work relevant to the area of creative practice, including those relating to work health and safety and sustainability considerations

describe ways in which space is planned for physical and virtual display or exhibition purposes.
