Performance Evidence

Evidence of the ability to:

set up and operate a studio panel using a full range of audio inputs on at least three occasions according to station procedures, health and safety, and production requirements

collaborate with others in a broadcast production environment

follow station procedures for archiving materials, completing documentation and checking equipment at the conclusion of broadcasts.

Note: If a specific volume or frequency is not stated, then evidence must be provided at least once.


Knowledge Evidence

To complete the unit requirements safely and effectively, the individual must:

explain the process for referring technical faults and problems to relevant people in a broadcast production environment

explain the issues and challenges that typically arise in the context of operating a broadcast studio panel in a live to air situation, and how to address them

explain the basic principles of audio mixing in a broadcast production environment, including how to maintain consistent audio levels throughout a radio broadcast

outline the work health and safety (WHS) requirements as they relate to the operations of a broadcast studio.
