- Crew competence is assessed and maintained.
- Crew are prepared.
- Crew personnel administration is managed.
- Requirement to supervise the crew of an armoured vehicle, its weapons, and ancillary equipment, is received from orders, and is understood and accepted.
- Vehicle is checked for serviceability and prepared for operations.
- Constraints and risks relevant to the task are determined and managed.
- Identification, handling and preparation of inservice ammunition is supervised.
- Resources required for the performance of the task are determined.
- Identified problems/shortfalls are reported to supervisor.
- Deployment of the armoured fighting vehicle into areas of operations is supervised.
- Supervise and command the operation of the armoured vehicle
- Individual decision making process is conducted.
- Orders are prepared and delivered to crew.
- Battle procedure is coordinated and conducted.
- Liaison is conducted in accordance with operational requirements.
- Armoured vehicle is employed in accordance with tasks as directed.
- When required, the vehicle is driven at a basic level in accordance with standing orders for vehicle operations.
- Crew tasks are supervised.
- Work health and safety (WHS) requirements and recognised safety precautions including those contained in Australian Defence Force procedures, are applied appropriately to the operational environment and context throughout the operation.
- Vehicle tactical operating techniques are applied.
- Operation of the vehicle communicationssystems is supervised.
- Minor incidents are dealt with.
- Major incidents beyond the supervisor’s level of authority or competence to deal with are reported to managers and action is taken as directed.
