- Site survey, risk and environmental assessment are conducted.
- Suitable bridge design is selected based on site survey and available resources.
- Construction/dismantle plan is developed in accordance with design, resources, risks and environmental considerations.
- Problems that cannot be resolved locally are referred to higher authority for resolution.
- Competence of team members is confirmed and monitored.
- Construction team is briefed in accordance with standard procedures.
- Outside agencies are liaised with as required.
- Work health and safety (WHS) requirements and recognised safety precautions are applied throughout the operation in accordance with standard procedures.
- Construct gap crossing
- Construction team is directed and supervised in accordance with construction plan.
- All unexpected situations that require a quick and decisive response are recognised and responded to in accordance with operational requirements and standard procedures.
- Checks are completed for security, alignment and stability.
- Support from outside agencies is organised and directed.
- Technical advice is provided to higher authority or support agencies.
- Gap crossing site and gap crossing are maintained in accordance with standard procedures.
- Dismantle gap crossing and refurbish site and equipment
- Construction team is directed and supervised in accordance with dismantle plan.
- Gap crossing equipment, tools and materials are recovered, cleaned and maintained.
- Gap crossing equipment, tools and materials are either stored or redeployed to another site in accordance with standard procedures.
- Site is refurbished in accordance with environmental requirements.
- Documentation is completed in accordance with standard procedures.
- Post activity analysis is conducted and subsequent recommendations are made in accordance with standard procedures.
