Elements and Performance Criteria

1. Define the search area
   • Search task and worksite data are determined and analysed.
   • Search plan is developed consistent with the dive plan.
   • Search control devices are prepared and positioned on the hull as required.
2. Demonstrate search techniques
   • Manual search methods are applied in poor visibility while guided by fixed search lines.
   • Visual search methods are applied in good visibility.
3. Refurbish search site and equipment
   • Search control devices are recovered without damaging the vessel.
   • Search control devices are disconnected, refurbished and stowed.
