Elements and Performance Criteria
- Prepare for the maintenance of aircraft egress systems
- Requirement for aircraft egress systems maintenance is identified from work requests/instructions and is confirmed
- Work health and safety (WHS) requirements, including those contained in organisational procedures, are applied throughout the operation
- Technical references, tools and equipment required for the maintenance are identified, acquired and prepared in accordance with organisational procedures
- Safety devices appropriate to the aircraft egress systems are installed prior to and on completion of, any maintenance in accordance with organisational procedures
- Maintain egress systems
- Aircraft egress systems are inspected in accordance with organisational policy and procedures
- Relevant maintenance is conducted in accordance with organisational procedures, technical specifications and drawings
- Emergency and contingency procedures are applied in accordance with organisational policy
- Relevant tests are conducted and recorded in accordance with organisational procedures, technical specifications and drawings
- Finalise the maintenance operation
- Aircraft egress system components are processed in accordance with the requirements specified in the work request
- Equipment/tools are maintained in accordance with organisational policy and procedures
- Housekeeping procedures are conducted in accordance with workshop requirements
- Documentation and records are maintained in accordance with statutory, organisation and workshop requirements
