Performance Evidence

Evidence required to demonstrate competence in this unit must be relevant to and satisfy all of the requirements of the elements and performance criteria on at least one occasion and includes:

applying colour coding, markings, stencilling and labels

applying compatibility/environmental constraints

applying moisture absorption/sealing procedures

applying operational safety

calculating weight, volume and dimensions

identifying explosives and packaging materials

using relevant tools and equipment


Knowledge Evidence

Evidence required to demonstrate competence in this unit must be relevant to and satisfy all of the requirements of the elements and performance criteria and includes:

basic knowledge of:

effects of environmental conditions

heat and/or vacuum sealing/moisture absorption/packaging procedures

operational knowledge of:

colour coding, markings, stencilling and labelling requirements

documentation requirements

explosives to be packaged

operation and limitations of packaging tools and equipment

operational safety

unit load construction

weight volume and dimension calculations

work condition class
