Elements and Performance Criteria

1. Identify operational requirement and allocated resources
   • Allocate tasks and resources and determine constraints imposed and any special requirements.
   • Identify doctrine, policies and procedures applying to the task.
   • Analyse the task to identify issues of concern and shortfalls.
   • Report identified concerns and shortfalls to the chain of command.
2. Plan for operation
   • Plan method of performing the operation including contingency arrangements.
   • Gather information and intelligence and conduct reconnaissance of the site.
   • Acquire resources required for the task.
   • Assess resources for suitability and report defects/shortfalls.
   • Conduct task briefings.
3. Control the operation
   • Ensure efficiency of performance and objectives are achieved.
   • Liaise and coordinate with personnel conducting concurrent activities.
   • Refer issues that cannot be resolved to the chain of command.
   • Action reported problems.
4. Conclude processes
   • Refurbish task area, tools, materials and equipment.
   • Conduct debriefing.
   • Complete documentation associated with the task.
   • Adjust future operations to reflect any impact of the completed operations.

Performance Evidence

Evidence required to demonstrate competence in this unit must be relevant to and satisfy all of the requirements of the elements and performance criteria on at least one occasion and includes:

allocating appropriate resources directing, briefing, coordinating and monitoring personnel handling dangerous goods and hazardous substances providing reports and appropriate documentation using manual handling and team lifting techniques using PPE

Knowledge Evidence

Evidence required to demonstrate competence in this unit must be relevant to and satisfy all of the requirements of the elements and performance criteria and includes:
