Performance Evidence

Evidence required to demonstrate competence in this unit must be relevant to and satisfy all of the requirements of the elements and performance criteria on at least one occasion and include:

applying relevant organisational administrative procedures

applying relevant work health and safety (WHS)/occupational health and safety (OHS) requirements, including:

applying relevant safety precautions and procedures

applying safety, legislative and statutory requirements relevant to offensive operations

controlling risk

identifying, interpreting and analysing risk assessment requirements relevant to offensive operations

communicating effectively

conducting the individual military appreciation process

coordinating sub-unit administrative activities

displaying initiative and leadership

employing equipment and weapons tactically

identifying, interpreting and analysing risk assessment requirements relevant to work being performed

managing resources

navigating during offensive operations

preparing and planning for operations

preparing reports

supporting sub-unit level offensive activities and leading the group when required

working as part of a team.


Knowledge Evidence

Evidence required to demonstrate competence in this unit must be relevant to and satisfy all of the requirements of the elements and performance criteria and include knowledge of:

administrative processes

basis for security operations

laws of armed conflict

communication and liaison requirements

logical process must include at least one of the following:

defensive tactics, techniques and procedures

employment of battlespace operating systems

employment of weapons and equipment

individual military appreciation process

navigation techniques

orders for opening fire

orders for the use of force

principles of offensive operations

rules of engagement

offensive tactics, techniques and procedures

principles of leadership

relevant defensive operations and military law requirements

relevant defensive operations re-supply and resource management

relevant legislation, and organisational policies and procedures

security tactics, techniques and organisational procedures.
