Performance Evidence

Evidence required to demonstrate competence in this unit must be relevant to and satisfy all of the requirements of the elements and performance criteria on at least one occasion and include:

applying Australian dangerous goods codes including:

segregation and storage requirements

applying relevant legislation, and organisational policies and procedures

assisting in constructing and maintaining nonpermanent bulk fuel installations of different sizes with different fuel products to be stored

controlling fuel spills

dealing effectively with unplanned events

interpreting fuel markings and panels

interpreting technical/schematic diagrams and publications

implementing environmentally sustainable work practices

responding to emergencies

working effectively as part of a team

working remotely.


Knowledge Evidence

Evidence required to demonstrate competence in this unit must be relevant to and satisfy all of the requirements of the elements and performance criteria and include knowledge of:

Australian dangerous goods codes including:

segregation and storage requirements

emergency response plan

fuel transfer equipment operation

functions and responsibilities of team members

hazard risk control methods associated with fuel products

maintenance procedures for fuel transfer systems

relevant legislation, and organisational policies and procedures, including pollution control

relevant work health and safety (WHS)/occupational health and safety (OHS) requirements

schematic diagrams.
