- Locate timber features and compare them with product specification requirements.
- Evaluate timber characteristics and record drying or treatment requirements as required by the enterprise.
- Assess visual appearance of timber and report in line with workplace procedures and organisational requirements.
- Monitor and control product care.
- Monitor product recovery to optimise resource value and minimise waste.
- Check potential of materials to provide the highest value add return with appropriate personnel.
- Regularly maintain and adjust machinery and equipment to minimise waste and damage.
- Identify problems as they occur and promptly report them to appropriate personnel to avoid producing de-valued product.
- Record and report on quality and product care procedures in line with workplace procedures.
