- Follow lock out procedures and adjust machinery to suit size and type of timber to be processed.
- Use equipment in line with organisational safety procedures, manufacturer’s instructions environmental protection practices.
- Produce posts and pegs at optimal rate consistent with material type, acceptable surface finish and equipment capability.
- Monitor pointing operation to ensure consistency of product dimension, quality and finish in line with organisational quality standards.
- Monitor shaving and sawdust removal system to ensure waste material is effectively controlled.
- Coordinate supply of material with appropriate personnel and report timber faults.
- Sort and process finished products in line with organisational procedures.
- Identify routine processing and equipment faults and resolve or report to appropriate personnel.
- Shut down operation
- Shut down pointing operation in line with manufacturer’s recommendations.
- Complete basic non-specialist maintenance for equipment in line with manufacturer’s recommendations.
- Record and report equipment faults and maintenance requirements to appropriate personnel.
- Clear work area and dispose of waste in line with environmental protection practices.
- Complete production and quality records and report in line with organisational procedures.
