- Set up machines
- Check safety equipment, including emergency stops, gauges, guards and controls.
- Complete machine settings and adjustments in line with job requirements and manufacturer's instructions.
- Complete trial runs to check machine operation, accuracy and quality of finished work.
- Accept or reject trialled material and dispose of in line with environmental protection practices.
- Adjust machine setting as necessary.
- Operate machines
- Complete equipment pre start-up checks in line with organisational procedures.
- Operate machine in line with manufacturer's instructions, safe operating procedures and environmental protection practices.
- Monitor machine operation to ensure product quality and output.
- Repair sub-quality items to minimise waste and recycle or discard others in line with environmental protection practices.
- Stack material safely in designated location in line with work order requirements.
- Complete operator maintenance
- Follow organisational safety procedures to lock-out equipment.
- Remove and replace fixed cutter heads in line with organisational procedures.
- Joint straight cutters in line with organisational procedures.
- Record and report machining outcomes, equipment faults and maintenance requirements to appropriate personnel.
