- Interpret and clarify referred work order if from unfamiliar source
- Prepare personal protective equipment for the patient and members of the dental team
- Position patient correctly for procedure
- Provide full details of the procedure to the patient or carer and confirm consent to follow treatment plan
- Prepare equipment and materials in accordance with manufacturers’ instructions
- Perform check of try-in prosthesis prior to insertion
- Fit and evaluate try-in prosthesis
- Position the patient comfortably for the procedure
- Instruct patient on participation during the procedure
- Examine the try-in prosthesis for retention and stability
- Examine the occlusal relationships of the try-in prosthesis for accuracy of centric relation
- Assess the aesthetic appearance of teeth and gums
- Assess that speech has not been affected
- Assess patient comfort
- Complete documentation as required
- Alter try-in prosthesis
- Make changes to the prosthesis in accordance with the evaluation at the try-in stage
- Repeat the evaluation of the try-in prosthesis
- Ensure functional and aesthetic acceptability of the dentures to the operator
- Ensure functional and aesthetic acceptability of the dentures to the patient
- Provide patient with full details for the next stage
