Performance Evidence

Evidence of the ability to:

adapt at least THREE different lots of digital content for publication, on at least TWO different types of device:

determine appropriate technical, functional and aesthetic requirements of the job

correctly use features of software applications to adapt content according to requirements

produce work that meets all technical, functional and aesthetic requirements.

Note: If a specific volume or frequency is not stated, then evidence must be provided at least once.


Knowledge Evidence

To complete the unit requirements safely and effectively, the individual must:

outline potential different purposes of digital communication:

business

community

education

entertainment

social

outline how context of how people interact with digital communication affects its technical construction

outline key user accessibility issues to be considered in any type of digital publication

outline features of different output formats, why and how they are used

outline general features and functions of different output devices / delivery platforms, including portable devices

outline current technical requirements of different output devices, including portable devices, including limitations and opportunities

discuss issues to be reviewed in determining whether content is suitable for publication on a particular device

detail types of software applications and their key purpose and suitability for different types of digital publication purposes

discuss processes and technical procedures to adapt content for publication on different types of devices

discuss types of technical problems that arise when adapting content for different devices, and processes and problem-solving steps that can be taken to overcome them

identify national and international standards that impact publication of digital information.
