Elements and Performance Criteria

1. Plan the reticulated service maintenance
   • Work is planned and undertaken in accordance with identified needs, occupational health and safety (OHS) requirements and traffic control.
   • Tasks are assigned to appropriate licensed personnel to meet reticulated services' job requirements.
   • The work site is prepared in accordance with the regulations of relevant authorities and designed to meet Australian standards .
   • Environmental protection devices are installed as required to meet environmental regulations.
2. Carry out reticulated service maintenance
   • Pavement or vegetation is removed by manual or mechanical means to expose service pipes and to meet systems' performance requirements.
   • The correct reticulated service is accurately located and identified.
   • Defective components are repaired or replaced as required.
   • Components are serviced to specification.
   • Functional tests of items are carried out.
   • Clean and orderly work site is maintained during and after reticulated service maintenance in accordance with council requirements.
   • Services are returned to their intended purpose to ensure ongoing usefulness.
   • Service is reinstated after maintenance work has been passed at final inspection.
3. Complete necessary documentation
   • Documents are completed and filed to meet council requirements.
   • Records are secured, made accessible and kept up to date.

Method of assessment	The following assessment methods are suggested observation of the learner performing a range of workplace tasks over sufficient time to demonstrate handling of a range of contingencies written andor oral questioning to assess knowledge and understanding completion of workplace documentation thirdparty reports from experienced practitioners completion of selfpaced learning materials including personal reflection and feedback from trainer coach or supervisor
